A program where creative engagement is a child's path to healthy eating

STUDIO IN A SCHOOL, in partnership with Grow NYC's Greenmarket and Teachers College, Columbia University, created an innovative program that combines visual arts with nutrition instruction to motivate children to eat fresh, seasonal produce and make healthful eating choices. Since the inception of Art & Healthy Living in 2010, almost 15,000 New York City public school children have participated in the program. We are delighted to share a taste of the experiences and creative work of the children, teachers, farmers and nutritionists at the heart of this collaborative venture.

Exhibition opening on March 14, 2013

On March 14, 2013, Studio in a School will open the doors to its gallery on 1 East 53rd Street for the opening reception of Art & Healthy Living. Over 50 works of art created by students from 22 New York City public schools will be on display for this year's edition of the exhibition. The event is open to the public and will take place between 5-7 p.m. The exhibition will remain on view until April 3.
